Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Parent Payments and the Booklist?
There are two categories of parent payments: curriculum contributions and other contributions. Curriculum contributions cover items such as online subscriptions (Nessy, Mathletics, Little Learners and Essential Assessment), classroom consumables and your child's Resilience Project journal. Other contributions help to cover the cost of non-curriculum items such as our student wellbeing programs, first aid equipment and grounds maintenance and improvements. Payments are made through the Payments Centre on Compass.
Whilst the school receives funding from the Department of Education, this funding only supports the delivery of the essential curriculum and does not include the extra programs and resources that Dromana Primary School is known for. Parent Payments for curriculum and other contributions are voluntary, however the ongoing support of our families ensures that our school can offer the best possible standards in learning.
The booklist is separate to the parent payments. This is a list of educational items that the school recommends you purchase for your child to individually own and use. Our recommended supplier is Campion Education, and orders may be placed online at www.campion.com.au using the code 6WMJ.
Can I order only some of the booklist items?
For Years 1 to 6, the booklist is grouped into two categories - texts & stationery (mandatory items) and additional stationery. The additional stationery is required, but these items may be carried over from the previous year. If you order through Campion, the additional stationery is optional. Should you wish to only purchase certain items from the mandatory section of the booklist, you will need to source these yourself from your preferred supplier.
What happens if I miss the 11th December due date for Campion orders?
Orders placed after the due date will incur a higher delivery fee and may arrive outside the estimated timeframe. Orders can still be placed at the Campion retail service centre at 5/151-155 Princes Highway, Hallam. Alternatively, you may source the booklist items from your own preferred supplier.
How do I get the booklist items?
Orders through Campion are delivered direct to your home, for your child to bring with them on the first day of Term 1.
Can I combine the delivery fee for multiple students?
Unfortunately, no. Orders are picked by year level, so your packs may be delivered at different times. The packs are also bulky items, which attract a higher delivery cost through Australia Post.
Are payment plans available?
We are unable to offer payment plans for booklist items as these orders are managed directly by Campion Education.
Please feel free to contact the office on (03) 5987 2367 for a confidential discussion around payment plan options for Parent Payment arrangements.
